Caring For Your Ragdoll
Ragdolls are very
adaptable cats, and suit most lifestyles,
including families, single, and even apartment
households. They are a semi-long coated
breed, so they don't need a lot of
maintenance.
But, as with any pet,
certain care still must be taken with your
Ragdoll.
Please note that this
information is only a brief guide, and is
not intended to be used as a complete
reference.
Health
It's advisable that you give your Ragdolls
veterinary check-ups annually, and that you
ensure vaccinations are scheduled routinely.
Preventing illness rather than treating it
is the best way to keep your Ragdoll (and
bank account) in a healthy condition.
Every Redoak Ragdoll
comes to you vaccinated, wormed,
toilet-trained and reared indoors. All
kittens sold as pets
are de-sexed prior to re-homing.
Environment
Ragdolls are indoor cats by nature, happy
and safest when kept inside. If left
outside, their trusting nature might lead
them into danger.
Some items your Ragdoll's home will need
include a sturdy scratching post, a litter
box, and a variety of cat toys. Catnip-laden
toys will drive your Ragdoll wild!
Safety
Your Ragdoll's home environment is ideally
stimulating, comfortable - and most
importantly - safe.
You should never leave
detergents, bleach or other poisons exposed
where they can be trod upon or brushed
against. Such poisons will most likely be
ingested as your cat cleans itself.
Keep electrical
cords out of reach; under mats, taped down,
or otherwise not hanging loosely. Another
option is to coat your cords with bitter
lime, which you can find in almost any pet
store. |
